Great Deal on Bahco Pruners

You all know how much I love my Bahco pruners. I usually recommend you buy from Amazon, which has the Bahcos without replaceable parts for only $17 before shipping ($22 with shipping).

But an alert reader who is handy with the Google skills discovered a fantastic deal over at the Harry Epstein company. The Bahcos are only $12 right now! Shipping varies depending on your location, but I bought four pair of Bahco pruners (yep, I’m hiring) as well as a hedging shear, and the shipping was only $12 for the lot of it.

This same alert reader also let me know that since he has a distaste of buying things from China, he checked out the manufacturing locations of Bahcos and found they’re made in Sweden and France.

If you’ve been on the fence about trying some Bahcos, or just want to stock up so you and your partner aren’t always arguing over who gets to use the “good” pruners, this would be an opportune time. I use the medium size PG-M2 (middle, above photo), and I normally wear a small glove.

  1. I love my Bachos – been using them for years! Back in the day, I used to do quite a lot of pruning on a professional basis. My Bachos were the best I’d used (and I had tried them all). Sturdy, reliable, easy to replace parts and easy on the hand.

  2. Are you seriously hiring help? Will you pay my moving expenses (it’s only 3000 miles)?

Seriously though, congrats! It’s great that your business is so successful.

  3. Gen, Thanks so much for the heads up on this great offer. I am forever misplacing my pruners and I’ve been meaning to buy a few extras. I also bought a pair for one of my clients. I always give a little gift to each of my clients when their project is finished and I was already thinking about getting Pam a book on pruning. A pair of Bahcos will be the perfect complement to the book.

    • Awesome, Debbie! What a nice idea to get your clients a gift once you’re finished with their project. I ought to do that!

  4. Seriously, Gen, I love ya, but you are a drain on my bank account. Of course I’m going to have to go buy some new Bahcos at that price. My first pair, which I’ve coddled (they are the only gardening tool that is allowed to come in the house; the rest live in the garage) are still in good shape, but as my mother-in-law says, you can’t leave it at that store for that price!

Of all the things you’ve turned me onto, the Bahcos are my favorite. Oh wait … I think you turned me onto the hori hori too and that is something I absolutely cannot live without.

    • Glad to be of service, dear Erin. 🙂

I confess, after purchasing exactly the number of spare Bahcos I needed, I started having second thoughts about perhaps needing more at that price. I mean, Debbie’s point about gifts to clients is an excellent one. And what if an employee loses their pruners? And, and…

The moral of this story is: if you want Bahcos at this price, hurry and get them before I buy out the rest of their stock! LOL. I only wish I owned stock in this company. There. There’s a second moral.
