This week, Jenny over at J. Petersen Garden Design blew me away with her DIY projects. First, she showed us how to create a cinderblock wall that doesn’t suck. Cinderblocks can look so stark and industrial if not softened by plantings, paint, or other embellishments of some kind. Here, Jenny shows us how to create a wall that houses succulents and candles and looks very chic and of the moment.
Then, Jenny showed us how to create a three-tiered planter. This would be a fun project for spring, as soon as a decent selection of adorable spillers arrives in for planting.
Next, Susan over at the Blue Planet Garden Blog shared some garden trend predictions for 2011. And yes, making my bookish heart happy, there are some sneak peeks of new garden books coming this spring!
Then, aHa! Modern Living showed us how to use the Pantone color of the year for 2011 – honeysuckle pink. Not sure I can pull this color off in my attire (definitely not in my lipstick!), but in the garden? Oh yeah. It goes with all my tropicals.
Lastly for the week, Gardening Gone Wild debuted some new contributors, Noel Kingsbury and Tovah Martin. You’ll definitely want to head on over and see what these talented authors have to share over at GGW.

Well, I do have that lonicera in my garden… and it is blooming right now… funny, last year’s color was the color I had just painted my kitchen…
I ADORE that lonicera, Donna! I need to get one to cover my chicken coop.

Me, too! That was awesome. Jenny is a rockstar.
