Well, it’s book review week here at North Coast Gardening, which means I’ll have some reviews and excerpts of books that I’ve enjoyed recently. But before you read about my favorites, here’s some book excitement from some of my Twitter friends:
Fern Richardson from Life on the Balcony shares her favorite tips from Garden Up!: Smart Vertical Gardening for Small and Large Spaces. She also shared an awesome guest post from author Susan Morrison showing off a tropical courtyard makeover. (I reviewed Garden Up! here.)
HomeGrown.org has a book excerpt from Fresh Food from Small Spaces entitled Growing Fruits and Berries in Your Spare Space. They also reviewed The Resilient Gardener: Food Production and Self-Reliance in Uncertain Times.
Judy Lowe of Diggin It, the garden blog of the Christian Science Monitor, asked her garden writer friends about their favorite books of the last year. She got so many answers she had to split it into two posts! Part one here, part two here.
Christina Salwitz, the Personal Garden Coach (known for her amazing container plantings and foliage combos), recently reviewed The Edible Front Yard by Ivette Soler, a book I loved too. (My video review is here.)
Kelly Brenner with the Metropolitan Field Guide reviewed Butterflies and Butterfly Gardening in the Pacific Northwest recently, which is exciting because I hadn’t even known the book existed prior to her review!
Also, if you’re a crazy book freak like I am, be sure to check out the Five Books posts, featuring garden bloggers’ top five books they’d recommend.
